Winter Weather Advisory for Whatcom County

 

Urgent - Winter Weather Message National Weather Service Seattle Wa 833 am pst Thu Jan 1 2009

Western Whatcom County-Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 pm pst this evening...

 

Expect 2 to 4 inches of snow today over Western Whatcom County heaviest accumulations will be near the Canadian border from Blaine through Lynden and Sumas. Areas around Bellingham will generally see an inch or two.

The snow is being caused by moisture overrunning cool air flowing southwest out the Fraser valley. Precipitation will taper off During the afternoon hours.

 

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
