County officials want to emphasize that while the current flood emergency is taxing resources, everything possible is being done to assess the situation and maintain public safety. Hundreds of professionals and volunteers from multiple jurisdictions are working around the clock; however, it is difficult to forecast when crews will be able switch from emergency management to making repairs and restoring services. The primary focus at this time is to protect and maintain public safety and attempt to stabilize major transportation corridors and roads.
Residents are reminded that this is a County-wide and State-wide flood event, and record flood levels continue to be set. They are encouraged to continue to call 911 in case of emergency, so that response personnel have all information available to prioritize actions.
