Haxton Way is presently underwater and both lanes have been closed at Red River Road.  The decision to close the road was made at approximately 4:20 AM Friday morning based on reports from the field.  Due to the high tide, it is anticipated that the road will be closed for several hours.  Currently the only access to this area is provided via Red River Road to Hillarie Road.  If the flooding continues, the entire area will be closed which will impact resident's ability to access the Ferry to Lummi Island.

State Department of Transportation reports that Highway 542 (Mt. Baker Highway) now has one lane open at the mudslide at mile post 16 to 18.  They anticipate that it will remain open for the remainder of the day.  It has also been reported that the closure at Highway 9 has been reduced to mile post 68 to 72.
