Flood Watch for the Nooksack River in Whatcom County


Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday morning...The Flood Watch continues for * portions of western Washington...including the following
  counties...Grays Harbor...Clallam...Jefferson...Skagit...  Whatcom...Lewis...Mason...Snohomish...Thurston.* through Wednesday morning

*Heavy rain in the Olympics drove several rivers above flood stage today. More rivers could flood tonight as heavy rain continues. The Chehalis river and its tributaries could   experience minor flooding late tonight or Tuesday...but flooding   is not yet certain on most of the river.

*The Nooksack river in Whatcom county cloud also flood. If   flooding does develop on the Nooksack river it would most likely   occur Tuesday morning. The Skagit river in Skagit county and the Stillaguamish river in Snohomish county could also have minor   flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A flood watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but flooding is not imminent or occurring. Monitor the latest Forecasts from the national weather service and be ready to act quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.
